Sacramento man ID’d by coroner in motorcycle crash

The name of the motorcyclist who died of injuries suffered when he lost control of his vehicle early Tuesday on Greenback Lane near Interstate 80 has been released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

The man killed in the crash has been identified as Keith Ellsworth McKinley, 57, of Sacramento.

The crash occurred about 1 a.m. when McKinley was riding a 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound on Greenback Lane, approaching the onramp to westbound Interstate 80. The motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed in the right lane, when McKinley lost control and the motorcycle struck the west curb of the onramp, according to a California Highway Patrol news release. He was ejected from the motorcycle and struck a light pole.
