Fatal assault at Discovery Park music festival
Sacramento police are investigating a suspected homicide at Discovery Park Sunday as thousands of people were attending a concert hosted by radio station 102.5 KSFM.
Officer Matthew McPhail said a 31-year-old man suffered “significant injuries” and a homicide unit had been sent to the park. The man was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Fire broke out too
Several people were also injured in the afternoon while fleeing a deep-fryer fire at the venue just after 3 p.m., according to the Sacramento Fire Department. Several people fell and were trampled, sustaining injuries.
