Two-car crash causes minor fire, takes out traffic signals in midtown Sacramento
A two-car crash this morning at 29th and L streets in midtown Sacramento set off a small grass fire, which apparently shut down the traffic signals at the intersection.
Sacramento police have temporarily closed the intersection and are directing motorists to other nearby routes.
Sacramento fire officials said a “low vegetation” fire at the site was quickly extinguished. Police said there were there were no serious injuries sustained by the motorists in the collision, which occurred around 6 a.m.
Officials did not know when the traffic signals would be functioning again.
