An escapee from the Nevada Department of Corrections was arrested following a traffic stop Tuesday night near Woodland.

Yolo County sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle for Vehicle Code violations on Highway 16 near County Road 97 about 10 p.m. A passenger in the vehicle initially provided a false name but eventually was identified as Michael David Lillie, 37, of Nevada. Lillie was found to have an active warrant for his arrest after he reportedly walked away from an outside work crew in Carson City on April 8, according to a Yolo County Sheriff’s Office news release.

A second passenger in the vehicle, Aaron Masters, 38, of Nevada was arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant out of El Dorado County, sheriff’s officials said.

Both men were booked into the Yolo County jail.
