Arson determined as cause in Florin house fire

Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District crews report Wednesday that a house that burned in the Florin area on Wednesday was intentionally set on fire.

When firefighters arrived at Hamil Court near Gerber and Elk Grove Florin roads at about 1 a.m. Wednesday, the house was ablaze. A gas main was feeding the fire, requiring a call to Pacific Gas and Electric Co. for shut-off.

The vacant house was a total loss, according to Metro Fire. Loss was estimated at $200,000.

Anyone who has information about the arson of the home is asked to call the Metro Fire tip line at (916) 859-3775.

Call The Bee’s Bill Lindelof, (916) 321-1079.
