Sacramento man dies in Friday night crash on Broadway in Oak Park
A driver was killed after he became pinned in his vehicle following a crash Friday night in Sacramento, according to police.
The driver was traveling west on Broadway near 42nd Street in Oak Park when he crossed into the opposite lane of traffic and struck two other vehicles before 8 p.m. on Friday, according to the Sacramento Police Department. He became pinned into the passenger compartment of his vehicle and was extricated by fire personnel. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the driver as Juan Martinez, 31, of Sacramento.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Officers evaluated the two other drivers, who showed no signs of drug or alcohol impairment, police said.
