8 injured in three-vehicle crash on Highway 49
A three-car accident Saturday afternoon on Highway 49 sent eight people to hospitals, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
The crash took place just after 2:30 p.m. north of the intersection of Combie Road and Highway 49. Two people sustained critical injuries and were flown to an area hospital via helicopter, said Eli Deakle, spokesman for Cal Fire in Grass Valley.
The other six passengers involved were taken to area hospitals via ground transport and did not have injuries that were life-threatening, Deakle said.
Two sport-utility vehicles and a small bus were involved in the accident, Deakle said.
