Fire rips through Elk Grove garage

A fire swept through an Elk Grove garage Wednesday morning.

The blaze destroyed the garage on Moonlight Way despite the efforts of firefighters from the Cosumnes Community Services District Fire Department who were called to the scene about 5:30 a.m. The fire in the two-story home was fully involved when firefighters arrived.

Two people from the home were transported to the hospital with smoke inhalation. Investigators were working to determine the cause of the blaze Wednesday.
