The California Highway Patrol and deputies from El Dorado and Sacramento counties swooped down on a rural property Tuesday to recover 22 stolen vehicles.
The big bust is connected to investigations by the CHP and the two sheriff’s offices into home burglaries in El Dorado County and residential break-ins and car thefts in Sacramento.
Those investigations led officers to a large property Tuesday in the country near Somerset, El Dorado County. Securing the stolen vehicles and other property involved 35 officers, police dogs and the CHP’s helicopter crew.
Stolen vehicles recovered included cars, trailers, off-road vehicles, motorcycles, travel trailers and construction equipment. Some of the vehicles were hidden in the forest, according to a CHP news release.
Weapons and ammunition were also recovered. However, no arrests have been made.
The investigation is ongoing.
