A team searching for a missing boater at Camp Far West lake have found the boat the man was driving at the time of the Sunday evening accident.
The search for Dustin Connor, 38, of Orangevale was to continue into the evening and resume Thursday if necessary, according to a Placer County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Connor went missing after the boat, with six people aboard, overturned and split in half after being hit by another boat’s wake, authorities said. Three people were taken to a hospital with injuries and two others were not injured.
On Wednesday Placer County sheriff’s personnel, working with teams from Sacramento and Amador counties, continued to search the lake using a remote-operated vehicle. About 1:30 p.m., they found the boat Connor had been driving. Sheriff’s officials reported that it is under 95 feet of water, with 1-foot visibility and water temperatures in the 50s.

Searchers also found areas where Connor’s body might be. Sheriff’s officials said divers will enter the water in pairs and will be able to stay down only 10 minutes at a time due to hazardous conditions.
