Placer County sheriff’s officials are asking the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed a Granite Bay sandwich shop Tuesday.

The same man is believed to be responsible for two restaurant robberies in Folsom, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.

The Granite Bay robbery occurred about 10:38 a.m. at the Mr. Pickles sandwich shop at Douglas and Sierra College boulevards. After he ordered a sandwich, the man told the two employees to open the cash drawer and give him the money. The employees fled out the back of the store, and the man leaned across the counter but was unable to open the register. He then grabbed the tip jar and ran out the door, sheriff’s officials said. No weapon was seen during the robbery.

Employees described the man, shown in surveillance photos, as Latino, about 6 feet, 2 inches tall, with dark hair and a mustache. He was wearing eyeglasses, as well as a white shirt, red plaid jacket and gray pants.

Anyone with information pertaining to the robbery is asked to call the Placer County Sheriff’s Office at 530-889-7800. Those wishing to remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 if the tip leads to an arrest are asked to call the Placer County Crime Stoppers at 800-923-8191.
