A 51-year-old Scotia woman was killed and a 3-year-old child suffered minor injuries on Saturday afternoon after a 2014 Honda Civic flipped into an embankment off Interstate 5 in Woodland.
California Highway Patrol personnel responded to the accident after there were reports at 1:15 p.m. that a car had run off the roadway on northbound I-5, near County Road 22, according to a CHP news release.
The cause of the accident is unknown, but said the child’s car seat restraints prevented serious injury, the CHP reports.
