At 12:03 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to the 4900 block of Mack Road regarding a robbery. Officers encountered the victim and confirmed that she had been sexually assaulted, according to a department news release.

The victim had been walking through an apartment complex, police said, when a man approached from behind, armed with a knife. After stealing her cellphone and assaulting her, police said, the suspect ran.
