El Dorado County sheriff’s officials are looking for a convicted felon who allegedly fired shots into an unoccupied vehicle in Camino early Wednesday.
The Sheriff’s Office received several 911 calls about 5:34 a.m. reporting shots fired in the 5000 block of Cedar Drive. Several witnesses reported seeing the driver of a red vehicle stop at a residence and fire rounds into a parked and unoccupied truck before leaving the area, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.
Deputies confirmed the truck had been shot several times. Through further investigation, they identified the suspect as 31-year-old Rayden Charnock of Placerville, a convicted felon, according to sheriff’s officials. Charnock was seen driving away in a 2012 Dodge Journey with California license plate 6WJK066. The Sheriff’s Office released a photo of a vehicle similar to the one described.
Sheriff’s officials said Charnock is known to frequent the Placerville area and is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees Charnock or the vehicle is asked to immediately call 911.
