Placer County sheriff’s officials report that divers have recovered the body of an Orangevale boater from Camp Far West lake.
Dustin Connor, 38, went missing after the boat, which was carrying six people, overturned and split in two May 29 after being hit by another boat’s wake. Two members of the Placer County Sheriff’s Office’s Tahoe dive team recovered Connor’s body from the wreckage of his boat Wednesday. The boat was found a week ago, 115 feet deep.
In announcing the recovery, the Sheriff’s Office said, “We are glad to give Dustin’s family and friends some closure.”
The search was suspended Saturday to await arrival of specialized resources.

It resumed Wednesday with surface-supply divers using hard helmets that allowed them to spend more time searching the bottom of the lake, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.
Teams from Yuba, El Dorado and Santa Clara counties assisted in Wednesday’s search, with the Santa Clara team using its high-tech side-scan sonar to map the lake’s bottom. Sheriff’s officials said visibility was less than 1 foot and the water temperature was 44 degrees.
