Two men shot Thursday in separate Sacramento County incidents

A 19-year-old male was shot on 45th Street on Thursday night, leaving him in critical condition at a local hospital.

Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Tony Turnbull said his office received a call regarding shots fired on the 3900 block of 45th Street at 9:10 p.m. Thursday. He said the office was later told that the victim was transported privately to a local hospital. Turnbull said the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the upper torso.

The man was shot inside a house in the Oak Park neighborhood. Detectives have begun an investigation, and Turnbull said there is no known motive or suspect description at this time.

There was also another shooting on Marconi Avenue on Thursday night, Turnbull said. The male victim was shot once after an argument, but did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

Turnbull said the two shootings are believed to be unrelated.
