All lanes of Interstate 80 are now open after a big rig rolled over just west of the California-Nevada border on Monday morning.

The California Highway Patrol Facebook page said travelers can still expect heavy traffic in the area.

A CHP spokesman said the big rig rolled over at 6:59 a.m. on westbound I-80. The driver of the big rig, who was not identified, suffered major injuries. CHP removed the driver from the vehicle and transported him by air to Renown Health Medical Center in Reno.

The CHP said that the cause of the crash was unknown, but speed may have been a factor.
