A fire south of Camanche Reservoir in Calaveras County has burned 83 acres, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection reports. The fire had been reported at 225 acres, but better mapping has recalculated the fire at 83 acres, said Daniel Berlant, CalFire spokesman. It is 50 percent contained, he reported Wednesday night.
A lawn mower sparked the blaze, said Berlant, who added that all area evacuations have been lifted.
CalFire reported that the fire started about 12:46 p.m. off Cheyenne Way.
