A heavy, stolen dump truck was used as a battering ram to slam into an ATM kiosk at an Arden Arcade shopping center.

A silent alarm alerted the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department that there was something amiss at the SAFE Credit Union freestanding ATM at 1250 Howe Ave. around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

When deputies arrived they found the dump truck crashed into the ATM. After checking on the license plate, deputies discovered that the big truck had been stolen two days ago.

The driver had fled prior to arrival of deputies. No money was taken.
