A man accused of attacking a woman with a knife and threatening to kill her family members has been convicted of several domestic abuse charges.
A Sacramento County jury on Tuesday found Cordell Jones, 47, guilty of charges including assault with a deadly weapon, battery causing serious bodily injury, felony domestic violence and assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury, according to a Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office news release.
On Sept. 26, Jones attacked a woman with a knife, threatened to kill her and her family members, punched the victim repeatedly in the face and mouth with a set of metal keys, and choked her twice, authorities said.
Jones, who had prior convictions for domestic violence in 2007 and 2013, is to be sentenced Feb. 11 before Sacramento Superior Court Judge Patrick Marlette.
