Cameron Park man arrested in child molestation case

A 24-year-old Cameron Park man was arrested Thursday following an El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office investigation of an alleged inappropriate relationship with an underage girl.

The suspect was identified as Nathan E. Creel, 24. Investigators learned that Creel worked at a retail establishment where the alleged victim was a customer, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.

The investigation led to issuance of an arrest warrant for Creel, alleging lewd and lascivious acts with a child at least 10 years younger than the suspect. Creel was arrested Thursday morning without incident. Following further investigation, sheriff’s officials said, Creel was also booked on suspicion of sodomy with a victim younger than 16 years old.

Sheriff’s officials said Creel has worked at retail establishments focusing on sports nutrition in Folsom and Cameron Park. They ask anyone with information about Creel or potential additional victims to call Detective Anthony Prencipe at 530-642-4709 and refer to case EG16-4855.

Creel is being held is being held El Dorado County Jail in lieu of $200,000 bail.
