Investigators looking into Meadowview fires that damaged homes
Sacramento fire investigators are looking into at least a half-dozen recent grass fires set by someone in the Meadowview neighborhood.
The most recent blaze occurred about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday near Burlington Way. The blaze, which singed fences and a shed, burned in grass near eucalyptus trees and homes.

Some of the fires occurred off of Burlington Way, while others happened nearby closer to 24th Street and Laramore Way. Two homes have been damaged, and fences and outbuildings have been destroyed. Damage is estimated at $160,000.
“All of them appear to be human-caused and intentionally set,” said Chris Harvey, Sacramento Fire Department firefighter-paramedic.
Investigators have gathered evidence of materials that the arsonist used to start the fires. Fire investigators have been working with Sacramento police to gather security camera video that could be used to pinpoint who set the fires.
