Woman injured during Elk Grove hit-and-run crash
A woman was injured during a hit-and-run crash Saturday afternoon in Elk Grove, according to the city’s Police Department.
Elk Grove Officer Joaquin Farinha said there was a family disturbance before the collision, which took place about 2 p.m. on Springhurst Drive and Earlmar Court.
“The family got into a heated argument. One family member got into the car and tried to speed off, made an illegal U-turn and hit a car head on,” Farinha said. The female victim, who wasn’t part of the family dispute, complained of chest pain after the collision, he said.
After the crash, the 19-year-old male driver got out of the car and fled, Farinha said.
Once found, the suspect may be arrested and charged with a felony hit and run, Farinha said.
