A man hit by a car after being thrown from his motorcycle following a crash into a Highway 50 freeway barrier has died, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the motorcyclist as Matthew Wilson, 28, of Vacaville.
The CHP said about 8 a.m. Thursday, Wilson was speeding on his motorcycle eastbound in the center median of Highway 50 in the West Sacramento area. Wilson was passing slower traffic when he lost control of his motorcycle and hit the concrete barrier within the center median.
He was thrown from his motorcycle and landed in the fast lane, where he was struck by a car going about 70 mph. Wilson was taken to UC Davis Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
