A vehicle linked to a Cameron Park man who was reported missing more than a week ago was found Tuesday in Calaveras County. But what happened to 53-year-old Scott Kerfoot remains a mystery.
El Dorado County sheriff’s officials are asking the public’s help in finding Kerfoot, who left a friend’s house in Modesto the afternoon of July 25 en route to his home in Cameron Park.
Kerfoot, who was driving a white 1999 Isuzu box truck, never arrived home. Sheriff’s officials said a missing person’s report was filed, and information regarding Kerfoot and his vehicle was made available to other law enforcement agencies.
Tuesday, a passerby in the area of West Point in Calaveras County notified the California Highway Patrol that a white box truck was blocking a U.S. Forest Service road. The CHP responded and confirmed that the box truck was the one Kerfoot was believed to have been driving.
