The California Department of Transportation reports traffic flowing again on northbound Interstate 5 near J Street following traffic backups caused by a jackknifed big rig.
The California Highway Patrol said a big rig jackknifed around 12:37 p.m. because of weather conditions and snarled traffic. The area was receiving heavy rainfall.
“No other vehicles were hit,” said Officer Michael Bradley, CHP spokesman.
The driver of the big rig was not injured. Bradley said the incident was likely caused by weather and speed.
Caltrans reported that the northbound lanes were cleared shortly after 2 p.m.
