A Georgetown man died and another driver was injured Tuesday afternoon in a collision on Highway 193 just east of Cool in El Dorado County.
The crash was reported at 3:13 p.m. Officer Brent McElmurry, a California Highway Patrol spokesman, said a blue Subaru Forester was eastbound on the two-lane highway when it drifted into the westbound lane, into the path of a Ford F-150 pickup truck. The Subaru collided with the left front of the pickup and the pickup went over an embankment on the north side of the highway. The truck landed on its roof on a dirt road below.
The driver of the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene. McElmurry said the truck driver’s son arrived at the crash site and the driver was identified as Leo Bisordi, 74, of Georgetown.
The driver of the Subaru, a 65-year-old man, suffered head injuries and a broken leg, and was airlifted to Sutter Roseville Medical Center in Roseville, McElmurry said. His name was not released.
