Cause of Sacramento house fire under investigation

The cause of a fire that damaged a house near 15th and Lotus avenues, south of Sacramento City College, Thursday night is under investigation.

Sacramento fire crews responded shortly after 8 p.m. Initial reports indicated multiple houses were on fire and a second alarm was issued.

Christ Harvey, Fire Department spokesman, said the second alarm was canceled after it was determined one house only one house affected, and firefighters were able to contain the fire to the single house.

Harvey said the house was vacant.
