A vehicle breakdown early Wednesday morning led to he arrest of two women after El Dorado County sheriff's deputies reported finding items related to counterfeiting inside the automobile.

Deputies received a report about 6:45 a.m. of a disabled vehicle in the roadway on Strolling Hills Road, near the entrance to the Safeway in Cameron Park. They contacted the two women inside the vehicle and discovered that one of the women, Tanya Starks, was on felony searchable probation, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies found counterfeit money, printers, multiple identifications, checks and credit cards that did not belong to the women, sheriff’s officials said.

After further investigation, Starks, 35, and her companion, Kimberly Higgins, 47, were arrested. They were booked into El Dorado County Jail on suspicion of forgery, possession of counterfeit die/apparatus and possession of personal identifying information without authorization.
