Man wounded in afternoon south Sacramento shooting

A man was reported in serious condition following a shooting early Monday afternoon in south Sacramento.

Sacramento police spokesman Officer Justin Brown said officers responded about 1 p.m. to the area of Franklin Boulevard and Shining Star Drive to investigate reports of a shooting. He said they located a man in his 20s who had been shot. Brown said the man was transported to a local hospital.

He said the individuals involved in the shooting were said to be males who fled the area in a vehicle. Brown said no suspects have been identified.
