A Sacramento County jury has found a 29-year-old man guilty of child molestation in a case involving seven victims.
Igor Ponomarenko was convicted Monday on eight counts of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child younger than 14, a Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office news release states. The jury also found true a special allegation that the conduct involved more than two victims.
Ponomarenko molested seven children, all of them family members, over a period of four years. He was arrested in August 2013 and has been held in Sacramento County Jail in lieu of $200,000 bail.
Ponomarenko is to be sentenced March 20 by Sacramento Superior Court Judge David Abbott.
