A skull suspected to be from a human was found by a gold miner in El Dorado County.
The partial skull was found at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday by a man who was gold panning near the Bear Creek picnic area, not far from Traverse Creek Road. Detectives traveled to the site between Georgetown and Placerville to begin an investigation.
The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office is consulting with an anthropologist about the decomposed skull. No other body parts have been found.
