Sacramento school strike: Free lunch program and more resources for kids and parents
The Sacramento City Unified School District has prepared lunches for students and their families during the teachers’ strike that is shutting down schools Wednesday, the district said in a recent news release. .
Students and families can pick up pre-bagged meal bags containing breakfast and lunch at any SCUSD school near them. From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the district will also be distributing these meal bags curbside at community locations that have not been disclosed yet.
Roughly 40,000 students are unable to enter classrooms. Here are some educational places to take your kids if you’re staying at home with them Wednesday:
