A boy suffered minor injuries after being hit by a school bus Friday morning in Sacramento’s Northgate neighborhood.

Police responded around 8 a.m. in the area of Northgate Boulevard and Curran Avenue, Sacramento Police Department spokesman Officer Chad Lewis confirmed.

Lewis described the collision as minor and said the juvenile victim reported pain to the back of one of his legs.

Police had cleared the scene as of 9 a.m., Lewis said.

It was not immediately clear which school or school district the bus and child were associated with.

The closest K-12 schools to the scene of the accident are Twin Rivers Unified and Natomas Unified campuses. A Natomas Unified spokesperson said in an emailed response that the incident did not involve one of its buses. A spokesperson for Twin Rivers did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Lewis said he did not know the boy’s approximate age or whether he was an elementary, middle or high school student, only that he is a minor.
