Three Sacramento-area high schools ranked in Newsweek’s national top 500

Newsweek has issued its 2014 rankings for top-500 high schools in the United States, and campuses in three Sacramento-area school districts made the list.

Folsom High in the Folsom Cordova Unified School District ranked No. 174 on the list. Granite Bay High in the Roseville Joint Union High School District is No. 315. And Rio Americano High in the San Juan Unified School District is No. 416.

The publication ranked schools by multiple criteria, including enrollment and graduation rates, composites of SAT and ACT college admission exams and ratios of counselors to students.
