Niche, a rankings and review website, recently released its list of the Best Schools in America for 2025, focusing on factors including academics, diversity, teacher quality and college readiness.

The site graded schools on a scale from A+ to D-.

Sandra J. Gallardo Elementary School in Folsom was No. 1 on Niche’s list of the best public elementary schools in Sacramento County.

Folsom Middle School was the best public middle school in Sacramento County, Niche found, while West Campus High School topped the list of the best public high schools in the county.

Niche ranked Sacramento Country Day School as the top private school in Sacramento County.

How did Niche come up with its findings?

Niche based its rankings on “the most up-to-date data available from dozens of public data sources” such as the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Census Bureau, the company said on its website.

Niche also looked at “millions of reviews from students, parents and residents,” it said.
