See Santa visit babies at Sutter Medical Center Neonatal intensive care unit
Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus visited premature and sick babies at Sutter Medical Center’s neonatal intensive care unit in Sacramento on Wednesday.
The babies took their first photos with Santa today as the Izy and Aly Foundation teamed up with Auburn CHP and the California Highway Patrol’s CHiPs for Kids program to bring the jolly old elf, as well as gifts, to the tots and their families.
Izy and Aly are twins who were born at Sutter Medical Center in 2008 and were premature. They spent their early days in the Sutter NICU in Sacramento. Their mother Cyndi Mitchell, now a retired CHP officer, started the Aly and Izy Foundation to assist other families facing the same situation.
Sutter Medical Center is home to Northern California’s largest and highest-level NICU, with 63 beds.
