California health care, state jobs: Check out this new Sacramento list of positions

Sacramento is hiring health care workers.

Whether you’re looking for a job with the State of California or Kaiser Permanente — there’s a job for you.

Remember, the California Department of Human Resources implemented COVID-19 testing of all unvaccinated state employees working on site as an additional health and safety standard. Those who seek exemption of testing and facial covering must provide proof of vaccination.

Also, all Kaiser employees and physicians must be fully vaccinated.

Sift through the new Sacramento County-based jobs available on the CalCareers website and the available Kaiser positions located in the region, posted within the last week, as of Dec. 15:

Certified nursing assistant - correctional facility | limited term

Salary: $17.46 to $21.87 per hour

Requirements: a valid, active certificate from the State of California to practice as a certified nursing assistant.

The certified nursing assistant performs various patient care activities and related nonprofessional health care activities for patients in a variety of treatment facilities and health care settings.

Issued by the California Department of Public Health and the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, all staff who work in correctional settings who are unvaccinated will undergo COVID-19 testing with at least 72 hours between each test twice a week.

The final filing date is Dec. 23.

Medical assistant - Kaiser Permanente (Sacramento Hospital) | full-time

Requirements: Medical Terminology Certificate or equivalent experience.

The medical assistant assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of the physician or designee.

All Kaiser employees and physicians must be fully vaccinated.

Licensed vocational nurse - California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation | limited term

Salary: $30.52 to $34.49 per hour

Requirements: a valid, active license from the State of California to practice as a licensed vocational nurse.

The licensed vocational nurse provides a basic and technical level of general nursing care to patients in a variety of correctional health care settings.

Issued by the California Department of Public Health and the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, all staff who work in correctional settings who are unvaccinated will undergo COVID-19 testing with at least 72 hours between each test twice a week.

The final filing date is Dec. 28.

Staff nurse II (labor and delivery) - Kaiser Permanente | part-time

Requirements: One year of recent experience in labor and delivery or completion of the Kaiser Permanente Labor & Delivery Training Program within the past 12 months.

The registered nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. All Kaiser employees and physicians must be fully vaccinated.

Physician and surgeon – correctional facility | limited term

Salary: $135.41 to $142.55 per hour

Requirements: the legal requirements for the practice of medicine in California determined by the Medical Board of California or the California Board of Osteopathic Examiners.

The physician and surgeon perform assigned medical work in a state institution or clinic, maintain order and supervise the conduct of inmates or youthful offenders and protect and maintain the safety of persons and property.

Licensed masters mental health professional - Kaiser Permanente | full-time

Requirements: Masters degree in social work, social welfare from a clinical track, clinical or counseling psychology or related field required from an accredited college or university.

The licensed masters mental health professional provides mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment and crisis intervention services for adult and child members who present themselves from psychiatric evaluation with a broad range of mental health needs. All Kaiser employees and physicians must be fully vaccinated.

Home health nurse - Kaiser Permanente | full-time

Requirements: Two years of registered nurse experience within the last five years, of which at least six months were in home health in a hospital-based or community based home health agency. You also need a California registered nurse license.

The home health nurse provides age-appropriate skilled nursing care to patients in their place of residence in accordance with agency policy and procedure and state and federal regulations. All Kaiser employees and physicians must be fully vaccinated.
