Sacramento County Supervisor Phil Serna will lead an expected 250 people Monday night in a ceremony to mark World AIDS Day in downtown Sacramento.
Serna will join members of the Capital City AIDS Fund and others at a ceremony using LED candles to observe a moment of silence in support of HIV/AIDS survivors and to remember people who have died from the virus.
The ceremony will be held at the Faces nightclub, 20th and K streets, at 6 p.m. Monday.
A golf cart donated by Capital City AIDS Fund will be presented to Sacramento City College President Kathryn Jeffery. The cart will be used to distribute free condoms on the SCC campus.
