Del Paso Heights church gathering, march a plea to curb youth violence
More than 125 people filled a Del Paso Heights church Tuesday night to pray and plead for an end to youth violence following a fatal shooting of Grant High School football player Jaulon Clavo last week.
The group gathered at Allen Chapel AME church across the street from Grant High School. They then marched around the school in the dark, many of them holding candles and stopping to pray around various points around the campus.
“This generation, if we don’t help them now, this thing is going to go south pretty quick,” said Sistah Pat Roundtree, co-pastor of For His Glory church in Del Paso Heights. “I’m not ashamed of Del Paso Heights. People want to see something explosive here, but it’s not going to happen.”
