There’s a new – albeit temporary – tenant in a high-profile property on K Street in downtown Sacramento.

California Attorney General Kamala Harris is setting up a temporary campaign office for her U.S. Senate run inside 924 K St., one of three buildings purchased earlier this year by developer Moe Mohanna. Harris campaign spokesman Nathan Click said the office will “play an important role in our campaign” and will be the headquarters for the campaign’s “delegate efforts ahead of the California Democratic Party convention next spring.”

Harris is running for Sen. Barbara Boxer’s seat in next year’s election. She’s running against Rep. Loretta Sanchez, D-Orange, and a crop of Republican candidates.

The office will fill one of three spaces at the corner of 10th and K streets that Mohanna purchased in June for $5.3 million. The two other spots – on either side of the Harris office – remain empty.
