Lori McClintock, wife of California Congressman Tom McClintock of Elk Grove, dies
Lori McClintock, wife of Northern California Rep. Tom McClintock, died this week, according to a statement on the congressman’s Facebook page.
“Our family’s darkest day and most terrible nightmare has come. Lori is gone,” the statement reads. “And with her all the light, warmth, fun, friendship and love she brought everywhere she went and to everyone she met.”
“We are devastated and our world is shattered. Only those who knew her can understand the enormity of the tragedy of her passing for her family and many friends,” it continues.
Rep. McClintock, R-Elk Grove, and his wife married in 1987. She is survived by her husband and two children.
Lori Huizenga McClintock was a real estate agent recruiting coordinator in Sacramento, according to her LinkedIn account.
Condolences came in from across social media on Sunday after the news was publicized on the congressman’s Facebook page.
Some shared memories from the family’s time in Thousand Oaks, where they lived when McClintock was a state lawmaker. Others shared more recent moments from the congressman’s time representing a stretch of the Sierra Nevada foothills.
McClintock has represented California’s fourth congressional district since 2009. He served in state Legislature for 22 years.
“Devastating news — my deepest condolences to Congressman Tom McClintock and his entire family. I had the pleasure of seeing Lori just a week ago. She was a delightful and devoted woman who will be missed by so many,” Rocklin Mayor Bill Halldin wrote on Facebook.
