I-80 over Sierra reopens after closure due to spinouts
Westbound Interstate 80 has reopened to traffic over the Sierra after being closed early Thursday afternoon due to spinouts.
The California Highway Patrol announced the reopening about 3:40 p.m. and advised motorists that chains area required between Nyack and Donner Lake Road.
The highway was closed about 2 p.m. between Kingvale and the Donner Lake interchange because of spinouts.
The California Department of Transportation warns motorists of unstable weather in the area and advises motorists to slow down in wet conditions.
