Heading to Yosemite on Highway 120? Tioga Road set to reopen on Thursday
Tioga Road in Yosemite National Park is set to reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, if weather conditions permit.
Snowmelt on the roadway and infrastructure repairs were two of the factors that kept Highway 120/Tioga Road closed, according to the Modesto Bee.
The road’s reopening will allow people from the Sacramento-area and San Joaquin Valley to travel into Yosemite National Park from the west. Highway 120 goes through Yosemite National Park to Mono Lake.
Visitors should use caution since there may be dirt, debris and water on some sections of the road, according to a release from the National Park Service.
The National Park Service also said that motorists should drive slowly as bears and other animals may still be roaming the road.
