Light-rail service resumes Folsom and Sacramento

Sacramento Regional Transit annuonced that light-rail service on the Gold Line between the 65th and 59th street stations has resumed.

A bus bridge had been in effect for more than 24 hours as Regional Transit crews worked to restore overhead power lines for trains on the route between Sacramento and Folsom.

A problem developed about 4 p.m. Sunday when an insulator failed between the 65th and 59th street stations. The problem caused the overhead power wires to fall.

Crews started working on the problem but were not able to end the service interruption before the Monday evening commute. RT spokeswoman Alane Masui said service resumed about 7:45 p.m. Monday.
