Motorists planning a trip to Apple Hill are advised that three left turns in the Camino area on eastbound Highway 50 will be closed during a portion of October weekends.

Because of expected increased traffic on the highway, the state Department of Transportation reports in a news release that left turns at 5 Mile Road and the first two Carson Road exits will be closed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday next month beginning Oct. 7.

Eastbound motorists will be directed to continue to Exit 54, the third Carson Road exit. Caltrans crews will staff the closures with assistance from the California Highway Patrol.
