The state Department of Transportation is advising motorists to be aware of freeway ramp closures in Sacramento.
Eastbound Interstate 80 at the Truxel Road offramp will be closed from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Caltrans reports in a news release. Maintenance crews are scheduled to perform grinding and pavement work. Motorists are advised to use Northgate Boulevard as an alternate exit.
Beginning Monday and lasting through early December, the westbound Highway 50 connector ramp to northbound Interstate 5 will be closed nightly and there will be lane restrictions for ongoing pavement work to continue. The schedule for next week is from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday and from 11 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.
Westbound Highway 50 drivers seeking to reach the Sacramento International Airport will be redirected to a detour: Continue on Highway 50 over the Sacramento River to Yolo County, then take Exit 1A to eastbound Reno I-80, and from I-80 take Exit 86 to Redding northbound I-5 toward the airport.
