Traffic delays are expected this weekend on eastbound Interstate 80 over the Sacramento River as all but one lane is closed for road work.
Crews will reduce eastbound traffic on Interstate 80 in West Sacramento to one lane from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday, the California Department of Transportation said in a written statement. The West El Camino off-ramp also will be closed. The closures are needed to pave two other eastbound lanes near the Bryte Bend Bridge, officials said.
Motorists driving east from Davis toward North Sacramento or Placer County are urged instead to continue eastbound on Highway 50 and use northbound I-5 to reconnect with Interstate 80 in North Natomas.
