Folsom police warn motorists that a portion of Folsom-Auburn Road will be closed Wednesday to allow removal of a tree that poses a safety concern.
Sacramento Municipal Utility District crews will remove a gray pine tree that is leaning at a 45-degree angle over traffic lanes, with power and phone lines running through the tree’s canopy, according to a Police Department news release.
The city’s Public Work’s Department will coordinate the road closure, which is scheduled between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. All southbound lanes will be closed, and northbound lanes will remain open with construction zone speed limits in effect.
A short detour route has been established, and flaggers will direct traffic. Message signs were installed to notify motorists in advance of the closure.
