Partial closure of Folsom road for removal of big tree
A portion of Folsom-Auburn Road in Folsom will close beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday to allow for the removal of a large gray pine that is hanging over the roadway, its branches intertwined with power lines.
Sacramento Municipal Utility District crews will remove the pine that is leaning at a 45 degree angle over traffic lanes with power and telephone lines running through its large canopy.
The City of Folsom Public Works Department is coordinating the closure that will occur between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday.
All southbound lanes will be closed. A short detour will re-route motorists. The closure is within the Folsom city limits.
Northbound lanes will remain open with lower speed limits.
